A. Conditions and Participation
- All members and reciprocal players (according to the established reciprocity conditions and provided the tournament is not designated as MEMBERS ONLY) may register for RCG Castiello competitions, as long as they hold an official Amateur Player License with Handicap issued by the RFEG. Their WHS Handicap Index must not exceed 36 for either men or women. The maximum playing handicap will be 27 for men and 36 for women. Any necessary handicap adjustments will be made based on the actual handicap.
- The Competition Committee reserves the right to set a maximum number of participants if needed, and may exclude the latest entries if necessary.
- To award the title or trophy in a specific category, at least 20% of total registered players must be entered in that category.
- In trophies that offer a national or international qualifying phase as a prize, only club members will be eligible.
- Professional players with a valid handicap are allowed to participate.
B. Format of Play
- Each Championship will be played over the round(s) and in the format established by the Competition Committee and/or Sponsor, as announced by RCG Castiello at the time registration opens.
C. Registrations
- Registrations must be made at RCG Castiello, either on the official Sign-Up Sheets available at the Club, by email, or by phone. When registering, players must provide their full name and indicate their preferred time slot. The Competition Committee kindly asks that the sign-up lists be kept orderly and legible to facilitate the draw. When registering by phone or email, the player is solely responsible for ensuring the registration is completed.
- The tournament fee and registration deadline will be announced when the registration period opens.
D. Tee Times
- The Tournament Committee will arrange the Groups and Tee Times according to the preferences indicated at the time of registration. In two-round events with tee times based on standings, no changes to the assigned times will be accepted.
- Tee times will be posted on the RCG Castiello Notice Board, on the Club’s website, and sent via SMS (if a phone number is available). They can also be consulted through the Club’s mobile app.
- The Competition Committee reserves the right to modify the starting order or tee times if necessary due to weather conditions or organizational reasons.
E. Rules of Play
- All competitions will be played under the current RFEG Rules of Golf, the Competition Conditions, and the Club’s Local Rules, including the Code of Conduct. The Internal Regulations of the Real Club de Golf de Castiello will also apply.
- Default tee positions will be: Tee 52 for men and Tee 45 for women. To be eligible for a scratch prize, if one is offered, men must play from Tee 54 and women from Tee 49. However, when registering, each player may choose their tee, provided it is clearly indicated. If a specific competition has a different default tee, it will be stated in its corresponding exception rules.
- The Competition Committee, together with the Course Captain, will ensure that the course is properly prepared on the day of the competition.
- Regarding tee times, Rule 5.3.a will apply. A clock is placed on the 1st tee, which will serve as the official time reference. The starter has authority to apply penalties for violations of Rule 5.3.a.
- Scorecard Submission:
- Each player must personally submit their scorecard without delay in the designated area, typically the dropbox located at the clubhouse reception. The scorecard is considered submitted once the player has left the scorecard area.
- The time from finishing the round to submitting the card may not exceed 10 minutes. Exceeding this time will result in disqualification.
- Any correction, cross-out, or unusual marking on the scorecard must be clarified by both the player and the marker to the person designated by the committee for collecting scorecards.
- In the case of an electronic or digital scorecard, it will be considered submitted at the time of signing, as it will be processed automatically.
E1. Under 18s
All under-18 players wishing to participate in social tournaments held at the Real Club de Golf de Castiello will do so under the following rules:
- The maximum playing handicap will be 27 for boys and 36 for girls. Any handicap adjustments will be based on the actual handicap.
- Under-18 players will have a separate sign-up sheet. The Committee will assign their tee times.
- The Committee may authorize under-18 players to be grouped with adult players.
- If the tournament regulations explicitly state that all players may participate regardless of age, under-18s will be eligible for all prizes.
E2. Use of Buggies
In competitions, the use of golf carts is permitted for all players over the age of 18. Carts may not be used by more than 2 players and 2 bags. Their use is subject to the condition of the course, with the caddie master responsible for authorizing their use. Carts must always be driven through the rough.
F. Leaderboards / Rankings
Once the final scorecard has been processed, the provisional leaderboard will be posted on the notice board in the hall for fifteen minutes. After this period, the event will be considered officially closed, and no further scorecards or result-related claims will be accepted. Any subsequent claim will only be valid for handicap adjustment purposes.
G. Prizes
The list of prizes, as well as their order for each competition, will be announced when registration opens, within the Specific Regulations for each event. Unless otherwise stated, prizes are not cumulative.
The Competition Committee reserves the right to modify these regulations for organizational reasons.
